Ascoltando questo CD mi vengono alla mente le parole "brillante" e "stupefacente". Quanto arriva lontano Giovanni con le sue idee. Ci sono alcuni arrangiamenti caldi - molto caldi - che mi piacerebbe provare ad imparare. Lo stile chitarristico di Giovanni è complesso, ritmico e soprattutto è "swing".

Brilliant and amazing are words that come to my mind when listening to this CD. Where does Giovanni Pelosi come up with his playing ideas? There are some hot - very hot - arrangements on this CD that I'd love to try learning. Giovanni's playing is complex, rhytmic and most of all it swings.

Giovanni Pelosi è uno dei chitarristi più inventivi che abbia avuto il piacere di ascoltare. Lui prende canzoni su cui nessun altro metterebbe le mani e tesse loro intorno la sua musica una specie di magia. Prendete il pezzo di Merle Travis "Sixteen Tons". Ogni altro chitarrista avrebbe preso "Walking the Strings" o "Cannonball Rag"; non Giovanni, lui prende un pezzo vocale, lo rende uno strumentale e lo fa con finezza e bravura. Io ascolterò sempre Giovanni per il suo sguardo creativo verso tutti i generi musicali.

Giovanni Pelosi is one of the most inventive guitarists I have had the pleasure to listen to. He takes songs that nobody else would touch and weaves his own sort of magic around them. Take the Merle Travis number "Sixteen Tons". Any other guitarist would have taken "Walking The Strings" or "Cannonball Rag", not Giovanni, he turns a vocal into an instrumental and does it with finesse and dexterity. I will always listen to Giovanni because of his creative outlook towards all types of music.
